Kent Ryan earned a total of 11 varsity letters at Utah State while competing in football, basketball and track from the years 1934-37. A talented running back, Ryan earned first-team All-America honors in 1936 after helping the Aggies to a 7-0-1 record. A three-time all-conference selection in football, he participated in the East-West Shrine Football Classic in 1937. Ryan was named an alternate to the 1936 U.S. Olympic basketball team. He spent three seasons in the NFL with the Detroit Lions (1938-40).
Ryan passed away on Feb. 2, 2006 at the age of 90.
