H. CECIL BAKER
Sports/Years: Men's Basketball, Track & Field (1922-25); Head Men's Basketball Coach (1950-61)
H. Cecil Baker earned eight letters at Utah State in basketball and track from 1922-25. In addition to being a three-time all-conference pick as a center, Baker won Rocky Mountain Conference titles in the high jump and the 100- and 200- yard dashes. The Minersville, Utah native also anchored the mile relay team.
Baker later served as head basketball coach at Utah State for 11 seasons from 1950-61 and produced a 157-142 record. He earned Skyline Eight Conference Coach of the Year honors twice, and three of his teams were nationally ranked. Baker died on December 26, 1980 at the age of 85 .
